Communications and News Services Update
The University’s Office of Public Affairs has a new name, University Communications, which reflects the office’s primary role in communicating about and for the University of Pittsburgh to its many and varied constituents. Within that office, University Marketing Communications is now Communications Services, and University News and Magazines is now News Services. These new names better reflect the support the office provides to the University community, while at the same time emphasizing the important role of service in accomplishing that goal. Ken Service, vice chancellor of University Communications, has named Bill Young as director of Communications Services, Cara Masset as director of University News within News Services, and Cindy Gill as senior periodicals editor within News Services. Gill also retains her role as editor in chief of Pitt Magazine. The office’s Division of Administrative Services is now headed by Sandra Moore as Administrative Services Coordinator. This restructuring will enable the office to better serve the University community and effectively fulfill its mission.
