Newsmaker: Accolades for Chancellor Nordenberg
“All work directed to a good end is work of worth,” Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg said while delivering a lecture on leadership following his receipt of the 2013 Exemplary Leader Award from Pitt’s Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership on Nov. 16 in Alumni Hall. “My thirty-five years at Pitt have given me the chance to work with thousands of wonderful people who are committed to doing good. If I have contributed a little something to our collective effort along the way, I am pleased with that, but to be absolutely clear, I am the one who has gained in countless ways from my relationship with the University of Pittsburgh.” Chancellor Nordenberg is pictured here receiving his award from Kevin Kearns, director of the Johnson Institute within Pitt’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and a professor of public and nonprofit management.
