Newsmaker: A Day of Caring
A Day of Giving
More than 200 Pitt faculty and staff participated in this year’s United Way Day of Caring on Oct. 19. Pitt volunteers worked on 22 different projects in the City of Pittsburgh, Homestead, and Duquesne. Some volunteered in the Hill District, including, from left, Joe Germanoski and Larry Werner of Computing Services and Systems Development; Mary Dehler from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer; Assistant Vice Chancellor for Community Relations John Wilds, who stopped by to say hello to the crew; and Katrina Milbrodt of the University Library System. Other projects included sprucing up parts of Semple Street in Oakland and working at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in Duquesne.
