Chancellor Emeritus Mark A. Nordenberg and his wife, Nikki Pirillo Nordenberg, stand by two benches that were gifts to them from Pitt’s University Senate and the Staff Association Council. Pitt’s African American Alumni Council (AAAC) honored three alumnae with the Rising African American Leader Award during the Oct. 26 AAAC Farewell Brunch and Awards Reception, which was held over Homecoming weekend. The award recognizes alumni who are younger than 40 years old for their professional achievements and community service work. The honorees, from left, were Marita Garrett (A&S ’07), Jessica Robinson (GSPIA ’06), and LaTrenda Leonard (SHRS ’09).
