Newsmakers: Help for Business Owners
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs held a luncheon and discussion about state and federal government resources available to businesses owned by members of underrepresented groups. The event was held March 14 in the William Pitt Union. From left, Karen Stokes, deputy director of the Governor’s Southeast Regional Office; Deborah Walker, student conduct officer in Pitt’s Division of Student Affairs; and Pitt Vice Provost and Dean of Students Kathy Humphrey. Stokes chairs—and Walker is a commissioner on—the Governor’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs.
