Noonan Named Deputy Chief Legal Officer
Patrick Noonan, an associate general counsel in the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of General Counsel since 2004, has been appointed assistant vice chancellor and deputy chief legal officer at the University.
In addition to litigation duties, Noonan will oversee the operations of the general counsel office, including the management of the administrative staff, said Geovette E. Washington, senior vice chancellor and chief legal officer.
Noonan has practiced law for 27 years. Prior to joining Pitt, he served as an assistant district attorney for Westmoreland County and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In addition to his work at Pitt, he is a leader in the regional legal community, having been elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Westmoreland County Bar Association. Noonan is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
