Pitt Fares Well in Ranking of Global Research Universities
The University of Pittsburgh ranks 47th on U.S. News & World Report’s recently released list of the best global research universities. The publication collected data from 750 universities worldwide.
This is the second year the magazine compiled the ranking, which focuses specifically on schools’ academic research and reputation overall, not on individual programs.
“The University of Pittsburgh is one of the top research universities in the world, with a broad research portfolio led by health sciences, but also including natural sciences, social sciences, and engineering,” says Mark Redfern, the University’s vice provost for research. “This ranking by U.S. News and World Report recognizes the quality and impact of that research. Pitt truly is a globally renowned university.”
