A Welcome from Chancellor Patrick Gallagher
Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer and are returning refreshed and rejuvenated for the coming year. As we prepare to launch a new academic year and welcome a new undergraduate class, there is a palpable energy and excitement on all of our campuses. Much of this excitement is due to the contagious energy and enthusiasm of our returning students. But much is also due to a sense of growing momentum as we work together to advance our shared vision of what this great University can be. Today, we are all a part of the same Pitt family, and we are moving forward together. From Oakland to Johnstown, Greensburg, Titusville, and Bradford, we are pursuing our great mission to prepare students for success, advance the frontiers of knowledge, and benefit the communities we serve.
A university is only as great as the people who are part of it. Each day you demonstrate your passion and commitment to this University and its fundamental mission to make the world better through knowledge. This commitment to excellence will serve us well as we continue to prepare the next generation of students who will go on to make a difference in our world—and as we address the great challenges facing our nation and our community.
As we begin the new academic year, I look forward to partnering with you in the months ahead to make Pitt an even better place.
