A Welcomed Celebrity in His Own Hall ...
Issue Date:
September 30, 2013 Pitt freshman students and members of the Residence Life staff in the new Mark A. Nordenberg Hall extended a warm welcome to their residence’s namesake, Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg on Sept. 23. Billed as “An Evening With the Chancellor,” the soiree was held on Nordenberg Hall’s third-floor terrace, which was decorated with balloons and blue-and-gold streamers. The chancellor, who seemed genuinely pleased by the students’ warm welcome, spoke for 30 minutes about leadership development and how students can develop as leaders at Pitt. Following his talk, the group shared pieces of two large sheet cakes, one which read, “Welcome Chancellor Nordenberg” and the other, “The Inaugural Year.”
